Joseph A. Tarantino President and Chief Executive Officer Joseph A. Tarantino is the president and chief executive officer of Protiviti. He is responsible for the company’s worldwide operations, with a global executive team reporting to him. Tarantino has been with Protiviti since its inception in 2002. He previously served as managing director and head of the U.S. Northeast practice, and also was one of five founding members of the Protiviti Operating Committee, which was responsible during the company’s first five years for establishing Protiviti’s vision and strategy and overseeing financial and administrative matters for the organization. In addition, Tarantino previously led Protiviti’s Global Industry Program. Tarantino has more than 27 years of experience working with a variety of organizations to enhance their business performance through risk management, operational effectiveness and enhanced governance. Prior to Protiviti, Tarantino was the head of Arthur Andersen’s Financial Services Assurance practice for metropolitan New York, and he served on the North American and global leadership teams for the financial services industry. He has served clients in various industries with a specialization in banking, including managing internal and external audits, risk consulting engagements, due diligence assignments and large investigations. Tarantino attended St. John’s University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting. He serves on the board and finance committees for Calvary Hospital in the Bronx and Boys Hope Girls Hope of New York. |

Carol M. Beaumier Executive Vice President, Global Industry Programs Carol M. Beaumier is Protiviti's executive vice president, global industry programs. She oversees and coordinates the efforts of the Industry Program leadership, as well as guides the strategy for the program, which encompasses seven industries. Beaumier previously served as managing director and continues to lead the Global Financial Services and Regulatory Risk Consulting practices. She also is a key member of the Protiviti Financial Crisis Team. An experienced consultant and former bank regulator, Beaumier has extensive experience in a wide range of financial industry and regulatory issues. Beaumier has more than 30 years of experience as a financial services industry consultant. Before joining Protiviti, she was a partner in Arthur Andersen's Regulatory Risk Services practice and a managing director and founding partner of The Secura Group, where she headed the Risk Management practice. Before consulting, Beaumier spent 11 years with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), where she was an examiner with a particular focus on multinational and international banks. She also served as executive assistant to the Comptroller, as a member of the OCC's senior management team, and as liaison for the Comptroller both inside and outside of the agency. Beaumier holds bachelor's and master's (Hon) degrees from Colby College and is a certified anti-money laundering professional (AMLP). She is a member of the board of directors of the Financial Markets Association and the Maine State Society Foundation of Washington, D.C. |

Brian Christensen Executive Vice President, Global Internal Audit
Brian Christensen is Protiviti's executive vice president, global internal audit. In this role, he is the global leader of the firm’s Internal Audit and Financial Controls Solution and is responsible for the development and execution of Protiviti’s internal audit products. Christensen has more than 25 years of experience in helping clients increase the value of their internal audit function. This includes overall responsibility for internal audit efforts ranging from co-sourcing to full outsourcing relationships, including communication with management and audit committees around risk and risk-related matters.
A founding managing director of Protiviti when it was formed in 2002, Christensen has held various leadership roles in the firm’s solution and operation groups prior to his current responsibilities. Before Protiviti, Christensen was a partner with Arthur Andersen. He holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Wisconsin and is a CPA. Christensen is a member of The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), and he is a frequent speaker on auditing and risk topics at national conferences. During his career, Christensen has served in leadership roles with organizations that include the American Red Cross, Junior Achievement and the University of Wisconsin Alumni Association.

James Pajakowski Executive Vice President, Global Risk Solutions James Pajakowski is Protiviti's executive vice president, global risk and advisory services. He oversees the delivery of Protiviti's services in the areas of finance and transactions, operations, technology, litigation, governance, risk, and compliance. Pajakowski previously served as managing director and head of the Business Risk practice. He also was one of five founding members of the Protiviti Operating Committee, which was responsible for establishing Protiviti's vision and strategy and overseeing financial and administrative matters during the company's first five years. Prior to Protiviti, Pajakowski was a partner with Arthur Andersen, where he started his career in 1982. He has more than 25 years of professional services experience working with both public and private companies in manufacturing, public utilities, professional services and other industries. Throughout his career, he has consulted with clients in a variety of areas, including due diligence, business process improvement, enterprise risk assessment, enterprise risk management, finance transformation, financial reporting process improvement, financial investigations and the execution of internal and external audits. Pajakowski holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from Indiana State University. He is a member of The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) and is a past president of the Boys and Girls Club of Indianapolis. Pajakowski currently serves on the boards of the Chicago Chamber of Commerce and the Salvation Army in Chicago. |

Gary Peterson Executive Vice President, International Operations Gary Peterson is Protiviti's executive vice president, international operations. He oversees the strategy and leads the efforts of the management team for the geographic areas outside of North America, which includes the Asia-Pacific, Europe, Latin America and Middle East regions. Peterson previously served as the managing director responsible for Protiviti's Manufacturing, Distribution and Technology Industry program, as well as the Silicon Valley and Asia-Pacific practices. He has consulted with many clients and boards of directors on internal audit, corporate governance, and process efficiency and effectiveness. Before joining Protiviti, Peterson served as a partner at Arthur Andersen for 21 years during his 31-year tenure with the firm. While at Andersen, he initiated its Outsourced Internal Audit Services and led that practice worldwide before moving in 1992 from Chicago to Silicon Valley to lead the Northern California Business Consulting practice. Peterson started his career at Arthur Andersen in the External Audit practice in Milwaukee. Peterson earned his bachelor's and MBA degrees from Michigan State University (MSU), and he now serves on its West Coast Advisory Council. Peterson also founded and has for more than 20 years sponsored and directed the Schmidtke-Wagner Scholarship at MSU. He is a CPA and a member of The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) and the Association for Operations Management (APICS). |
